Arts Department

The "Arts" gives you the ability to create - and to be creative.   The arts - include dance, drama, music and visual arts which can all help enhance your creativity in solving problems.   When looking for some optional courses choose the arts!

Business & Co-op Department

 

Welcome students, to the dynamic and exciting world of Business Studies and Co-op! Do you want a successful and rewarding career? Do you wish to keep as many doors to your future open as you possibly can? Then consider taking Business courses and Co-op. Thinking about a career? Learn about it in the Business Courses then go out and experience it first hand in Co-op. These course are open to open to all. Come and experience the real world of work and gain credits while you do it..

Catholic Studies

 

Welcome to Catholic Studies!  

 

At St. Anne, your religion teachers are here to support you in your faith development  through a variety of activities.  Through guided meditations, prayer, scripture study, discussion and debate, guest speakers, social justice activities like making lunches, visiting the Downtown Mission and much more, we hope to strengthen your relationship with God and others, while encouraging and supporting you to be leaders who upon graduation will embrace and profess your faith.  Our goal for students is simple; it is embedded in our school motto, Fiat Lux,  "Let your light shine."  

 

Campus Ministry is one means to that end.  Through the leadership of Mrs. Fuerth, you can lead prayer services, read at Mass, help with retreats and much more!

English Department

 

The English Department now offers courses in Native Studies(NBE3U and NDW4M), as well as an Enriched Poetry course to Grade 11 students (ENG 3UE) This allows students more selection and alternative experiences to the compulsory course offerings. In these diverse courses, students are exposed to contemporary literature and in the Aboriginal Studies global social, economical and political topics.

 

 

Guidance Department

 

Students and parents are welcome to speak with any of the counselors, however, for administrative purposes, we have assigned students to counselors alphabetically.

Math Department

 

WHY DO YOU NEED MATH?

 

Math is one of the core sources for innovation in a supercharged, knowledge-based economy.  Now more than ever, employers are searching for graduates with analytical, quantitative, and technical skills necessary to lead them through the age of information.

 

Math is humanity’s way of decoding the world/universe into a language that we understand.

Physical Education Department

 

The Physical Education program at St. Anne high school has a goal of promoting healthy active living for life.  Our courses are intended to encourage a broad based exploration of a variety of activities,  highlighting traditional and non traditional approaches to fitness and wellness. Our courses offer a wide variety of learning experiences for our students in both sport and non sport specific settings, all of which encourage healthy active living on a daily basis

Social Science Department

 

Social Science is a branch of science that studies the customs of human society and the way in which that society functions. Of particular interest is the study of the relationships between the people that make up that society as well as the behavior of these individuals within that society. The disciplines of social sciences draw from a variety of fields of study and although these different areas of social sciences vary far and wide, they all aim to understand and explain human society and behavior. This study of how groups of people behave is usually done with the aim of being able able to predict how they will behave in the future.

Special Education Department

 

Our Special Education Department monitors all students who have an accommodation log or Individual Education Plan (IEP).  Our Learning Support Room is available for students who need any extra assistance. We have a library of cross curricular resources, as well as several computers to assist students with daily assignments and major projects.

 

Our Learning Support Teachers are available to work with students throughout the day.

Technology Department

 

Technological Studies promotes the responsible use of Technology, and enable students to become problem solvers who are self-sufficient, entrepreneurial, and technologically literate. We have educators that are both passionate and updated in the area of their expertise.   Technological Studies at St. Anne Catholic High School is all about doing.  Our students are busy everyday creating, planning, building, repairing, cooking, serving, recording, editing, programming and producing.  You have questions, we have answers!
